What are the reasons for the failure of the cold storage compressor to start or to stop shortly after starting?
1) First, check the main circuit. Is there power in the power supply? Is the voltage normal? Has the fuse blown due to starting overload? Has the air switch tripped? Are the switch contacts in good condition? Is there a phase loss in the power supply? Observe the voltmeter and ammeter during starting. If the small refrigeration and air conditioning equipment does not have an ammeter or voltmeter, a multimeter or voltage tester can be used to check the power supply. When the power supply voltage is too low, the compressor cannot start.
2) Check the differential pressure relay and high and low pressure relays. When the oil pressure of the compressor is abnormal (exceeding a certain value or being lower than a certain value), the compressor will stop running. At the same time, when the exhaust pressure (high pressure) and suction pressure (low pressure) of the compressor are abnormal, the compressor cannot start or will stop running shortly after starting.
3) Check whether the cooling water volume, cooling water volume and water temperature are normal. If the water volume is small and the water temperature is high, the condensing pressure will rise sharply and the evaporation temperature will drop rapidly. Due to the action of the protection facilities of the unit, it often stops quickly.
4) The working medium in the temperature relay bulb leaks or the adjustment is incorrect.
5) For piston refrigeration compressors, check whether the big end bearing of the connecting rod and the crankshaft are seized. This may be caused by excessively high exhaust temperature during previous operation or by the carbonization of the lubricating oil, causing the cylinder and piston to stick together, preventing the compressor from starting.
6) Check whether the relevant solenoid valves and regulating valves are malfunctioning and whether they are opened or closed as required.
These reasons often cause the refrigeration compressor to fail to start or to stop shortly after starting for a few minutes or tens of minutes. It is necessary to carefully find the cause. Before the cause is identified, do not force the start to avoid damaging the equipment.
