Lao Zhou, who runs a home-style restaurant, almost lost his regular customers some time ago because of the noise from the cold storage u nit. His restaurant is not large, and the back kitchen is right next to the dining area. When the ordinary cold storage unit he used before was in operation, the "buzzing" sound would spread to the front hall through the wall. Several elderly regular customers said it was too noisy and gradually stopped coming. Lao Zhou was also troubled by this. At night, the employees lived in the compartment adjacent to the back kitchen, and the noise from the unit made it hard for everyone to sleep well. He had to ask around for solutions, and finally, on a friend's recommendation, he replaced it with a low-noise cold storage unit, which completely got rid of the noise trouble.
When choosing the low-noise unit, Lao Zhou summed up two key points. The first is to look at the type of compressor. The previous unit used a piston compressor, which had large vibration during operation and a noise level of up to 60 decibels. However, the newly replaced scroll compressor reduces the noise to below 45 decibels. When standing next to the unit while it is running, you can only hear a slight wind sound. The sales manager also explained to him that the internal structure of the scroll compressor is more stable, and there is no impact sound from the reciprocating movement of the piston. Not only is the noise lower, but its service life is also 2-3 years longer than that of the piston compressor.
The second point is to pay attention to the sound insulation design. The unit Lao Zhou chose has 5 cm thick sound-absorbing cotton pasted on the inner side of the shell, and rubber shock-absorbing foot pads installed at the bottom, which can reduce the vibration transmission when the unit is running. The installation master also specially did some extra work for him: placing the unit on a load-bearing platform in the corner of the back kitchen, adding a layer of shock-absorbing pad between the platform and the unit, and installing detachable sound insulation panels around the unit to further isolate the noise.
Now, there is no longer the annoying "buzzing" sound in Lao Zhou's restaurant. The former regular customers have come back, and the employees can also sleep soundly at night. He sighed: "I didn't pay attention to the noise problem before. I didn't expect it to have such a big impact on the business. Choosing the right low-noise unit not only makes the customers comfortable but also saves us a lot of trouble!"
